Took some time off away from home and little hobbit begins her adventures at....

KALLANG LEISURE PARK!

The ice palace was virtually empty with only about 5 people then.... the whole rink belonged to us. No pesky ah bengs trying to speed skate past us. because the best thing about Kallang is that we can be the ones to speed skate without annoying anybody. It's much bigger than the one in JEC, just priced slightly higher for that greater amount of skating pleasure, what wasn't worth?

Just an auntie at her corner going through her drills. wow she's cool, we thought that she was japanese coz she has an exquisite dainty look and she starkly resembles the Japanese grandmother who was travelling in JiuZhaiGou. But i placed a bet on her being Korean while CH said she's japanese. So I skated around the auntie and i attempted to make small talk with her! =p hobbit trick - smile and smile back - but what came out was mandarin and dashed my hopes to hearing "soh soh! ni hon jin desu!" Nevertheless, she chatted a little bit on the ice and left her to do her practice.

by the way, here's a conversation i had with the auntie in the toilet:

auntie: 你很年轻啊！应该有20 岁吧！
hobbit: 是的。。。 我已经23 岁了。
auntie: 真得很好， 年轻有活力。你们滑得很好。
hobbit: 你也是啊，你也应该是有学过吧。
auntie: 我人老了。。。 最小的都28岁了！大女儿嫁出去了！
hobbit: 哇, auntie buay pai eh.
auntie: haha, 你玩得开心一点！ 我怎么称呼你？
hobbit: 我叫苑菁。你呢？
auntie: 哦我啊，我叫 Violet. hee hee! 我的女儿帮我取的！！！
hobbit: ...

She has her own pairs of skates, goes all the way to JEC then to take proper skating lessons when she lives in Tampines, and when her bunch of skating kakis dun meet up anymore she does it on her own. Talk about being young at heart, this auntie definitely has the full package!


Yea that's the girl who would do anything to make me blurt out a "thank you" or a "sorry" and have a way with my pride. 真败给了她. But well, everything has its limits and she crossed it when she tried to seek revenge on the down-the-ice-through-your-shirt ploy!!! muahaha. she gave chase and poor her fell HARD on her butt. (oops, i really didn't want to say this out).
