so far, we are halfway into our project. The experienced will advice the amatures. I'm probably somewhere in the middle, still discovering my way to the top. I advise the smu people. and that's probably the best i can contribute.
Maybe these are some obstacles i met :
- AVA : It takes 2 weeks to get a licence processed and the likelihood of getting approval is low. Selling guppies - u need a washroom nearby, and an open area e.g. forum or an atrium. It's against the law to bring in life animals across the causeway. It's a known fact, but i stupidly overlooked it. It costs $126 to get a licence to exhibit an animal.
- Change of Club name : This is considered a serious matter. Oh well, i guess so.
- Orientation camps can be held elsewhere, as long as the camp name does not have the words "Orientation" and "Freshmen". Smart.
- Sponsorship letters : Not a good idea to use the UN logo without permission. I haven't got caught yet, but i better ask first.
- People : Those who say they want to help, so enthusiastic at first, slowly fade away and gone. Be mentally prepared, to work alone. only trust yourself.
- Don't rush.
- Forget about persuading people to come back. It's tiring, ineffective and an insult to your pride.
- Tutorials : Have only touched 1 tutorial out of all of them.
Alright, fundraising offishally ends on the 21st Feb.
Exam ends in May. 3 months to camp, it should be of enough time to seek for sponsors, plan the program, and to execute it.
