on brokeback mountain --

not that i'm a pro gay activist... i kinda like the show for various reasons. number one - they have do have pretty cool scripts from which i can remember a line or 2... "I'm not you... I can't make it on a coupla high-altitude fucks once or twice a year!"
"Ennis, girls don't fall in love with fun! " "I wish i knew how to quit you" okie ya.. that's about it i can remember from the movie. =P

Another reason why this show is so unique is that different concept of homosexuality westerners have from asians. well me n lr discussed it a little... how gay men know that they are still men even though they enjoy entering each other better than with their wives. in asia, for that matter generally, touches on identity confusion within themselves. yes we all have heard of transsexuals from thailand... but how many have we heard who are from the west? maybe yes, but i have not heard of so far. anyway i dun want to discuss this furthur and jump to the point of highlight...

Actually, well, throughout the whole show... i'm sure all of us can relate to them and think about how there's a little brokeback mountain in us. not saying that everyone of us would find ourselves falling in love with with the same sex, but rather, having some lies we have to tell and truths that we have to keep or how we can be so guai lan inside ourselves but act as if nothing's happening in front of others. Really, lr felt confused on what to feel... haha ya i was pretty confused too... but i felt for the 2 men, more for ennis (because they showed more of him) so much repression they had to go through... all the misery they had to put up ever since they parted... i was totally consumed in my emotions when i saw ennis having to go one corner and just could not control his emotions and started having somewhat like a bout of fit and having to cope with this sudden outburst... how he had no one to turn to but the wall. I'm sure it must have been a horrible horrible horrible feeling... then there's ennis' wife who witnessed her husband kissing another man, how it broke up a happy family. and the quarrel scene between alma and ennis... when alma confronted him about his "fishing trips", and ennis's defence mode came fast and violent. He felt that he couldn't have done anything about it, he couldn't control it, he was like "u don't know anything about jack!" , as if his wife not knowing how it started was jumping to conclusion, yet knowing that her assumption had hit the nail on his head. then his wife went all hysterical and started screaming at him... she wouldn't have told anyone else about this matter... the secret that she had kept to herself all these years must have had killed her althogether... another horrible horrible horrible feeling...

sometimes post movie reflection isn't a great thing either. when i went to bed i had a dream somewhat related to the movie, though i can't remember what it was. but i woke up and realised it was 3:30am and i haven't done my tutorial which i have to hand in. oh no no no... must be the durain effect... made me all drowsy...
